The Red Band Trailer For “WTF!” Is Refreshingly Terrifying
Here is a synopsis of WTF!:
Three years ago, 22-year-old girl-next-door Rachel (Ott) barely survived a brutal massacre that left her friends in pieces. Time has passed, and Rachel has moved on, but unfortunately history has a way of repeating itself. Her close friends are spending Spring Break in a secluded house in the woods, and they have cordially invited her to join. Little does she realize that another bloodbath will be showing up as a plus one. Once Rachel and her friends arrive at the cabin, the partying, sex, and terror begins.
Most films wait for a sequel to bring the survivor back to the scene of whatever brutality happened to them and their friends, but Herro takes that approach differently. Most stories don’t really start or end, rather the filmmaker decides on what part of the story to focus the film on. This story, co-written by Herro, Christopher Centanni and Adam Buchalter is, in a way, the first of it’s kind. This creative writing team has created a myth, a legend of what happened previously, and throws in a character who has already been through this traumatic experience. Imagine if Scream 2 was actually the first film in the series. With the previous knowledge and experiences, it throws a shift in the generic slasher movie psychosis, and leaves us, the viewers, with something both interesting and unique.
