Have Your Kids Been Bad? Check Out This Krampus Make-up Tutorial!

Here’s a little secret from the people behind We Are Indie Horror, but you cannot tell anyone. We kind of hate Christmas. Maybe it is because it takes over the day after Halloween, maybe it is due to being raised Jewish. The most likely reason would have to be the fact that it is the least scariest holiday of the entire year; even Easter is all about zombies. If this is the case for you, then we have found something that just might help stir the yuletide up just a bit.

Santa has been popular for ages, but our evil and scary friend Krampus is making his return this year in a big way. The new Michael Dougherty Christmas movie Krampus is bringing the scary back, and giving Krampus some much needed attention. According to ancient lore, Krampus punishes young children during the Christmas season. His devilish appearance terrifies young children into behaving, and that is something we desperately need. Say goodbye to fat old men in red, and hello to furry, long horned, snake tongued monsters. That is a Christmas we can get behind.

If you’re looking to get into the Christmas spirit a little early, the people at Wholesale Halloween Costumes have put together a couple DIY tutorials for Krampus make-up and costumes! They show you how to apply the prosthetics and make-up, as well as show you how to make the demonic horns from scratch.

If you follow this simple tutorial, the make-up and horns shouldn’t cost you more than $20. And please remember, if you’re going to scare your children on Christmas, please videotape it so we can enjoy the screams too. We’d really appreciate that.
