Hollywood Horror Museum Update

Back in October we informed the community of a brand new project sure to bring smiles to the faces of many called The Hollywood Horror Museum. For those unaware, The Hollywood Horror Museum is a project put together by some of the greatest minds in horror in attempt to bring education of the horror genre to the masses. This would be the word’s first educational nonprofit Horror museum. It plans to teach the history and legacy of horror in films, TV, art, makeup, and literature.

The board of Directors for The Hollywood Horror Museum includes legends such as Clive Barker, John Carpenter, Joe Dante, Mick Garris, Tom Holland, and Greg Nicotero. Along with the likes of Sean Cunnigham, Sara Karloff, Time Lucas, Jennifer Lynch, and Victoria Price, the team has been quite busy getting everything together for us to enjoy.

Today we bring you an update on this long awaited project. They are actively continuing to collect props from fans, stars, and studios alike. Check out the video below of Founder and CEO Huston Huddleston discuss some of the latest additions.

A full size Aliens PowerloderWow that will certainly be impressive to see in real life. The one that has We Are Indie Horror excited is the Tortured Souls room. Some of Clive Barker‘s scariest nightmares came from this McFarlene Toy line and to see full size sculptures of these hideously terrifying  creatures would be too surreal.

The Hollywood Horror Museum and The Hollywood Sci-Fi Museum have both released their own brand new podcast. The Horror one includes Batman‘s Catwoman, Julie Newmar and We Are Indie Horror friend Lisa Wilcox of Nightmare On Elm Street 4 and 5 fame. To support and listen to the podcast check out the main website link below. While there be sure to check out the new shirts, hats, and mugs to help support this nonprofit educational foundation.

If you are looking to see some of these props or speak to someone in person about The Hollywood Horror Museum you will have a few opportunities coming up in 2016. First they will be spotted at ScareLA on August 6-7 doing a huge display of horror props. On September 16-18 in Burbank, The Hollywood Horror Museum can be spotted at Son Of Monsterpalooza with a booth and a possible panel. And last but not least, the weekend of Halloween, October 28-30, some Walking Dead props will be brought to Walker Stalker Con. Click the respective con name for more information and how to buy tickets.
